The Rossmoor Square Dance Club was founded in 1965 and we just celebrated our 50th anniversary in June of 2015. The dancing is done in groups of eight to a variety of popular tunes. As all steps are carefully explained, practiced and then called as the dance progresses, most beginners find it easy to learn and enjoy. Square dancing is a fantastic social outlet that provides beneficial physical and mental exercise for the muscles, brain, heart and bones while improving coordination.
In addition to weekly dancing, the club also has various social events including the Annual Rossmoor Hoedown, our Holiday Dinner Party and Summer BBQ Picnic. Our club is very fortunate to have our weekly dances hosted by professional caller Bert Swerer. Bert is well known throughout the East Bay for his lengthy experience in calling as well as for his patience and expertise in teaching.
